I hate cutsie, so this toy ranks high on my hate list. However I bought this for my wife and scored 10 out of 10 on brownie points. She loves it so it makes for a good gift idea for an Elmo fan.
The toy is pretty much as described by Amazon. It has a bean bag bum (with official Sesame Street tag sewn in) and feet, the rest is standard synthetic stuffing and super soft pile fur, which doesn't seem to shed.
The mouth is made of hard plastic to keep the shape and it is hinged somehow so that the mouth can be squeeze closed (springs open). The eyes are made of 2 hard plastic balls molded together and the black pupils are part of the plastic, so they won't rub off.
The nose is fabric with a firm, but squashable filling.
The build quality seems to be good and I have no doubt that it would stand up to a childs hands.
It was certainly a big hit with my wife, so I can only assume it looks like the real Elmo (pretends not to know!).
Soft and cuddly
We bought this for our 18month old at Christmas and he loves it so much. We were going to get the talking Elmo but couldnt afford it so opted for this instead. In all honesty the talking Elmo now seems a bit gimmicky, as this cuddly Elmo provides just as much fun. A great cuddly toy.Soft clean and well made.
Great toy
I got this for my little 14 month old girl as she started to shout Elmo when she seen him on TV and it was an instant hit and still a much loved soft toy. She puts him in her buggy and wheels him around and he also gets fed a share of whatever she is eating as his mouth is open and perfect for putting grapes and strawberries in. Overall a fantastic buy - we both love it.
