Amazon.co.uk Review
Filled with intriguing story lines and a smoking hot cast, Dirty Sexy Money focuses on a idealistic lawyer wrestling with his father's death and the family that may be responsible for it. Peter Krause (Six Feet Under) stars as Nick George, whose father was the legal counsel for the Darling family and good friends with patriarch Tripp (Donald Sutherland) and his wife Letitia (Jill Clayburgh). When Nick is offered to take his father's position with the family, he goes through a gamut of emotions: He never saw his father because his dad was always tending to the Darlings' needs; he had dated troubled Darling daughter Karen when they were younger. He doesn't want to get sucked up into the drama that is their life but, like his father, he is unable to resist both the salary (upwards of $10 million) and the Darlings' tremulous connection to his dad. But that money doesn't come without strings; Nick serves as both counsel and therapist to the family. Occasionally, he is also asked to play the role of errand boy (When favoured son and rising politician Patrick (William Baldwin)--who is married--wants to break up with his tranny girlfriend, he asks Nick to do it. And to give her a cheque to show his affection). To his credit, Nick says, "I'm not going to go into a hotel and give a tranny hooker a check." To which Patrick says, "She's not a hooker!" All 10 episodes of the debut season are included in this boxed set. Executive produced by Greg Berlanti (Dawson's Creek, Brothers & Sisters, Eli Stone), the thoroughly entertaining drama has a group of characters that keep viewers glued to the screen. Karen is a boozy socialite who switches husbands often; Patrick can't stand up to his wife, even after she kinda-sorta shoots him; Tripp and Letitia have a litany of secrets that affects their marriage and their children; Nick finds himself sparring (both verbally and otherwise) with their eldest son, the Rev. Brian Darling. And whether Nick has found a friend or foe in charming multi-millionaire Simon Elder (Blair Underwood) has yet to be determined. Dirty? Yes. Sexy? Absolutely. As for the money, it just may be the root of some of the Darlings' evil. --Jae-Ha Kim

Synopsis
Down to earth, happily married young lawyer Nick George is forced to compromise his ethics and relive his childhood by taking over his recently deceased father’s job of representing the impossibly wealthy and out of control New York family, the Darlings. The reason? $10 million a year to carry out charitable works and the small matter of finding out who killed his father.

Peter Krause (Six Feet Under) stars as George, alongside a great cast, including William Baldwin (Sliver) and a career-defining performance from Donald Sutherland (Don't Look Now) as head of family Tripp Darling. The Darlings are no ordinary family and George’s problem solving talents are tested to the full as he tries to balance family life with the engaged Karen Darling’s continuing infatuation with him, senator-hopeful Patrick Darling’s secret affair with a transgender prostitute, the Reverent Brian Darling’s illegitimate son and twins Jeremy and Juliet’s continual feuding and money-burning--all the while digging into family secrets as he tries to uncover the truth behind his father’s death.

The title says it all!5
Has there been a Dallas shaped hole in your life since the coming & goings of the Ewings disappeared off our screens? Well fear not because that hole can be filled with Dirty, Sexy, Money! Following the exploits of the darling Family, Trip the father and head of the clan, is he as clean as he makes out? His wife, what's her dirty little secret? The twins, Jeremy & Juliet, can he find love & responsibility, is she more than an empty headed bimbo?, Karen the older daughter, how many men can she get through? And Brian the older son and man of God, who's not exactly a good Christian. Into this mix comes a lawyer who's father worked for the Darling family and has just died in plane crash, but who caused the plane the crash, The Darlings? The Mysterious Simon Elder?

A fabulous mix of comedy, drama, mystery, the super rich life style, great acting, especially from the great Donald Sutherland, secrets and sex. Highly enjoyable, ridiculous fun with a surprisingly terrific sound track and cinematography. High quality trashy fun, pour yourself a large glass of wine sit back and enjoy.

DVD as Good as TV5
Excellent product. I had forgotten how good this series was. Will watch again and again. Looking forward to the second series.

Its simply darling!5
Another quirky offering from across the pond ~ this is soap at its best!
Donald Sutherland shows again how real acting talent will always reign supreme and reign supreme he does as the head of the unhinged but totally fascinating Darling clan.
Its all here, the intrigue, the love interests, the murders, the politics but, somehow, pulled together it all works and leaves you wanting more.
No-one could try to sell this as serious drama but you know, sometimes, its good to just lay back, chill out and escape to another world!
