If you fancy an RC flying toy that really stands out from the crowd, we have a real thriller--the new i-Fly Vamp. The Vamp differs from most other flying toys because it's an 'Ornithopter', which means it flaps its wings to fly through the air, just like a real bat. The flapping wings and glowing eyes give the eerie illusion that it's a living (or undead!) thing, swooping through the darkness. A unique steering system and digital proportional controller means that the Vamp is able to keep its altitude even whilst making the sharpest of turns and is extremely simple to learn to fly. Supplied ready to fly right out of the box after a quick charge, with no assembly required, the Vamp is ultra-tough to effortlessly survive even the roughest of landings.

Customer Reviews
Great fun, actually flies!
Got this as I've been through a couple of PicooZ-type heli-things, and then graduated to a 4-channel co-axial. So, this interested me, just to see it would actually fly. And it does, although you need a fair bit of space to use it indoors, and something this light will not cope with even a tiny breeze outside, so don't even bother trying. May have to take it in to work, in order to have a bit more room, but managed some circuits in a large room at home.
The looks of it, combined with the shrieking noise it makes when flying, make it ... well, not quite a 'bat out of hell', but certainly something different, and a little insane too, which I like!
Also comes with spare wings and small plastic discs, which can be stuck to the wings to balance it: For example, if it constantly turns to the left, you can add weight to the right wing, so it is 'trimmed' to fly straight with no stick input.
One note is that this, as advertised, operates on a radio frequency of 27MHz, which is not actually legal in the UK, where the 35MHz band is allocated for models. Hmmm, better go and turn myself in then ......
great fun for all
looks fragile but quite rebust but best to treat with respect and one year on you will still be having loads of fun on original wings! Truely. Best flown on a warm still day or night with plenty of space. Has been up as high as 4 storey building and over 100 feet away. Last about a good 10 minutes between easy charges. Glows in the evening light, very effective. We have purchased a second to take and leave abroad at friends home. All ages can take a turn. Really great value.
Vampire Bat
A 14th birthday present for a grandson - he found it good fun (and so did his 10¾ year-old sisteer). It did what it was supposed to do but needs a quite a bit of space to fly in. They both specially liked to fly it outdoors when it was dark and the bat's illuminated nose showed up nicely.
