Exercise it by playing games - otherwise it can become over weight and unhappy, clean up after it goes to the toilet, nurse it back to health when it's sick, discipline it when its naughty and praise it when it needs a pat on the back.

How you care for your Tamagotchi will determine which characters you will get. Use the new infra-red (IR) function to connect to other Tamagotchi, play games, exchange gifts and even have Tamababies if you nurture your friendships with other Tamagotchi owners!

The screen is twice the size of the original Tamagotchi with the program having 5 times the capacity allowing for improved graphics, events and fun animations!

Well let me begin.
I am 17 years old. I have not 1, not 2, not even 3 but 4 tami's 2 version 1 (Joey-girl, Eric-guy) and 2x V.2's (Storm and Freya- girls).
Here's why you should buy one.
I'm not allowed a real pet and I have a real love of caring for all things. They are free to care for (no food expenses, no nothing), you don't have to rush home to walk them, no Vets bills, no cleaning up mess, no noise, no smells, 2 mins every few hours each if you are, like me, a very busy person. You wont get in trouble if you let them die and if you get fed up you can leave em in your draw for a few months!!!!
Version two is better,more fun, but younger childrem may like v.1 better becasue its easier to understand and the games are more simplistic. The Jump game is easy and I rather think that 'Dance' would help a child's memory improve. Whereas in Version 2 even I have difficulty with them!?

Overall they are great because it gives kids a sense of responsibility with no pressure and no risks. They are great fun to play with. I canot think of any downsides to them as like I said if you get fed up with em they can go away for a bit and the batteries last for a while.
I reccomend them 100%

Better than the originals
So! Tamagotchis are back in the playground again! And this time you can connect them to your friends!
I've just bought my second tam - a Version 2, and it's very good. There are alot more things to do than on the version 1 (and a heck of a lot more compared to the 1990's tam). The main add-on for the version 2 tam are Gotchi-Points - points you earn for playing and winning games, which you can collect and earn in the shop. The items (e.g. sweets, toys, cake etc) can be used by you tamagotchi or wrapped and sent to a friend via the IR. (Although I haven't actually worked out how to send a particular item to a friend, the instructions are a bit vague).

There are also more games - you start with 2 as a baby, and more games are added as the tam grows up. When it is an adult you can bet your Gotchi-points and win (or loose!) more.

The connexions part is similar two version 1 - although you can now choose if you want to do a game or give a present.

There is also a Pause feature added (press A and B together in live mode). Cheats (types in at the shop) can be obtained (look online!) to win new items.

All in all a good improvement on both the 90's Tam and version 1. Worth buying version 2 if you don't already have one, and it might be fun if you already have a version 1 to get a version 2 aswell. Version 2 can interact with either version, and both version can interact with either of the international tamagotchis (Tamagotchi Plus or Tamagotchi Connections).
