no nasty greasy splash marks all over
cooker and oven
very good value for money
A weeks worth of cooking so far
Love the thing, I bought it to roast, which it does not do according to the instructions, but I have created some fantastic quick and healthy meals, discovered how to make crispy chips with only a teaspoon of oil, stir fried left over rice with scraps from around the kitchen sautéed in with soy sauce, was delicious. Did a mixed grill with all the trimming, tomatoes, onions mushrooms and even had room for a few crispy chips.. oh and I did chicken thighs in a Creole sauce ..Result! Haven't tried steaming fish yet, but looks easy enough...Can create whole means in it too
Yes a great buy, it's ready to cook in about 20 seconds from switch on, AND so easy to clean, which is a big plus for me.
Doing Beef Stroganoff later.. It's a fun cooker that is actually practical
An excellent buy
I have been using this for over a year, and love it. I didn't find the instruction booklet very helpful but, through trial and error, I have learned what the numbers on the dial actually mean in terms of cooking temperatures, and can now cook anything from egg custard (as a bain marie) to browning meat for a stew.
Slap the meat in to brown it at a high temp, then knock it down to very low for 6 hours, and it makes the best slow cooked stew ever.
I have done pot roast chickens, soups, stews (with dumplings), poached fish, baked/fried sausages, lamb shanks, rice pudding, steamed veg, curries, moussaka... I probably use it 3 times a week for the main meal.
The only negative that I can think of is that I managed to scratch the non-stick fairly early on, by accident, using a plastic utensil, so I don't think it is that durable. Since then, I have been more careful, and a year later there are no more scratches - so it ain't THAT fragile.
It freaked me out a bit (to start with) to immerse the entire thing in water (cable removed) to wash it, but so long as you let it dry thoroughly, there are no problems.
all in all, an excellent investment, and if this one died, I would go straight out and buy another.
