A Rarer Side Of Dusty
This latest compilation features some of Dusty's biggest hits such as "I Only Want To Be With You" "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me", "Some Of Your Lovin'" and "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself" but it's good to see some album tracks that perhaps the more casual listeners haven't heard before.
From her second album "Ev'rythings Coming Up Dusty" we have "I Had A Talk With My Man" & "Oh No! Not My Baby" which showed even as far back as 1965 that Dusty could tackle any kind of song and win!
"Dusty In Memphis" track "I Can't Make It Alone" is here and Dusty gives this a very gentle and extremely moving performance the cd is worth buying for this song alone!
"They Long To Be Close To You" & "If You Go Away" are from Dusty's "Where Am I Going" album while "Living Without Your Love" gives up it's title track to end this cd.
Other rarer tracks are "What Do You Do When Love Dies", "I Want Your Love Tonight" which is vintage Dusty and was originally released on her EP "Dusty In New York" but one song that has really got bigger over the years and will always be hailed by many fans as another of Dusty's finest moments is "The Look Of Love" from the spoof Bond movie "Casino Royale".
A slightly more unusual compilation but nevertheless a very worthy addition whether or not you're a Dusty completist or just discovering her for the first time, Dusty's music is constantly finding new fans and it's wonderful that her musical legacy continues to be re-discovered!
