Manufacturer's Description
When searching for that ultimate thirst quencher this summer, nothing quite beats drinking a delicious smoothie. Not only will it revitalise your taste buds, but it’s also packed with vital vitamins and nutrients, all essential for living a much healthier lifestyle.

The YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT by Russell Hobbs Smoothie Maker will make delicious fruit smoothies all summer long and also provides a fun and exciting way of ensuring that children are receiving a regular diet of fruit as well. From a Sweet Summer Cooler to cool you down from the summer heat, to a Breakfast Buster perfect for setting you up for the day, the array of mouth-watering smoothies you can create are virtually endless.

Designed in a crisp white finish with silver highlights, the Smoothie Maker has 550 watts of power, with a 1.8 litre capacity and can be used either as a smoothie maker or a traditional blender.

Both a stirring stick and cap are supplied with the smoothie maker. When making smoothies, simply place the stirring stick into the lid to help move around ingredients if required, for perfect results. To prevent ingredients from escaping while blending, simply slot the cap into the lid.

With two speed settings it will blend a variety of different ingredients. Use the lower speed for lighter jobs, using mainly liquid ingredients and the higher speed for heavier jobs, which involve mainly solid ingredients. The separate ice crush button will quickly reduce ice to slush for icy drinks and cocktails.

A dispensing tap is located on the front of the machine, which can be rotated to whichever side or angle is convenient, for direct and easy pouring into glasses.

With an array of recipes included to help you get started, the YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT Smoothie Maker by Russell Hobbs is certain to be a smooth operator in the kitchen

Does what it says......4
I bought this smoothie maker to make healthier smoothies(milkshakes) for my 3 year old. Instead of using the powdered milkshake products full of sugar, he now enjoys smoothies make with fresh fruit. I know he is getting the goodness from the fresh product (and he actually prefers it to the powdered stuff).
The machine itself is a little bulkier than i expected but would be great for making smoothies for the whole family at the same time. I chose this over the Kenwood makes as they seem to have a reoccuring tap problem (as per buyers reviews). The tap on this version seems fine.
I find it is better to leave the motor running whilst pouring the smoothie into your glass. The whole machine is very easy to take apart and clean. This may be one of the cheaper machines available, but it does what is says!!

I would continue looking.......3
I have had this smoothie maker for a few months, I bought it when it was on offer.

It blends well, there is not problem with that aspect of the blender. However the first setting packed up on me after just a couple of days so I use the 2nd or ice settings, it works fine.

It is fiddly to clean and can be quite difficult to dismantal, I need all my strength to turn the jug away from the blade section to take apart. Also, the washer near the tap has disintergrated, so it leaks slightly.

Finally, small fruits such as blueberries get stuck in the tap so you have to put them in last.

Larger than expected, but does the job!3
Good Points;
- Makes smoothies, milkshakes, drinks, soups etc
- Really easy to use

Bad Points;
- The smoothie maker was larger than expected, so takes a lot of storage room in the cupboard when not in use.
- Difficult and fiddly to clean. Everything comes apart, but I've found that seeds from fruit like blackberries/raspberries etc tend to get everywhere
- Doesn't always fully blend all ingredients. Often end up with "chunks" of fruit or veg at the bottom.
- The tap often gets clogged (mainly due to the last point!)
- Not a great recipe book included
