Product Description

Conical coffee grinders produce the best and most consistent ground coffee. The Dualit 75002 wont clog with oily or flavoured beans and, because the conical burr spins slower than other grinders, it produces less heat which in turn preserves the maximum aroma of the bean.

Probably the best at this price5
I have had this grinder for about three years and have been very happy with it. I have found it capable of grinding beans down to a very fine degree; sufficient to produce a very good crema on an espresso.
Yes, there is a little static that causes some grains of coffee to stick to the container; and you know when it is doing its job by the noise it makes - but I have not found these inconvenient or annoying.
One thing that does set it apart from many other grinders is the generous aperture of the bean hopper; it makes pouring in the beans easy and fuss-free.

Excellent considering its flaws are all easily rectifiable!5
I bought this grinder as the Starbucks Barista (it's REAL name is the Solis 116 - it gets re-badged by Dualit/Starbucks). I've had it for well over a year, and it is performing as well today as it was when I bought it.

So, in all a reliable great value for money grinder, whose misgivings can all be fixed as follows:

1. The 'it grinds to fine' or (as I have found when using it to get a decent espresso) 'it doesn't grind fine enough' problem can be fixed quite simply if you're willing to dismantle it - follow the excellent instructions that can be found by putting 'grinder tweaks' into google.

2. the static problem goes away if you 'earth' the ground outlet with a metal object - which means getting a teaspoon and rubbing it all over the machine (to neutralise the charge the coffee picks up in the tunnel). I do this every so often and don't get problems with static

3. the sliding out drawer can be fixed by wrapping a rubber band around the plastic 'tongue' that sits beneath the drawer. This provides enough friction to keep it in place.

My hope is that this may actually help some folk who experience these problems to enjoy their coffee more...

The Grinder you need4
If you've bought an espresso machine then you need this grinder. Ive spent ages looking for a grinder - having used the rotary type that just smash up the beans. The Dualit grinder makes the most of your beans - they get crushed like there supposed to. This makes the most of the flavour.
The only fault - noise! (oh and static - tap the ground coffee holder before you pour as static will cause coffee grounds to go everywhere).
