The Le Creuset Multimat is a superbly versatile item
making it one of the better multi-tasking kitchen tools available.

(nb ONLY ONE ITEM IS SUPPLIED)

It is a ridged circular silicone mat, of approx 8"/20.5 cm diameter, which is dishwasher safe.

As per the use/care labels attached:-

a) Non-slip mat
b) Pot holder
c) Jar gripper
d) Surface protector - 'Protects most surfaces against heat transfer. When used as a surface protector, it will not provide total heat insulation and should be used in conjunction with other protection on vulnerable surfaces such as natural, polished or lacquered wood, plastic table coverings or cork backed table mats.'

This SUPER item comes in a variety of colours... to mix or match...with any kitchen colour scheme. It even has a hole for hanging it up, or just pop it in a drawer - it takes up very little space!

I find it particularly useful for stabilising a bowl when whisking for the excellent, egg-free 'Instant Chocolate Mousse', in Nigella Express, by NIGELLA LAWSON, keeping the carving dish steady when slicing the Sunday roast and prising off that stubborn new M & S strawberry jam jar lid!

Fine product at a fine price.
I guess this item falls under the category of "stocking filler" and it did for two people receiving presents from me this year. They both liked it too, which was a result. The thing is very simple but comes across as being well-made and thought-out. It's already proven useful for putting hot pans on and it's pretty useful for opening those tight jars as well.

It has a little hole for hanging on kitchen racks, or it will fit sleekly into any drawer without too much fuss.

So, for less than a fiver, you can't be complaining here.
