they do slip
I was given one for a house warming present... and I back to using a tea towel - much better, cheaper and a more positive feel when handling hot pots.

Rolls Royce of oven gloves
Bit of a boring subject....Oven Gloves... However, this product is a true kitchen aid. There is nothing worse than using a material glove in the kitchen and getting it wet with hot liquid. This product keeps you safe and can also be used over naked flame BBQ's.

Good in parts
I bought a pair of these gloves and I think they were well worth the money.

If all you are doing is accidentally dipping your thumb into the fat as you baste the roast potatoes, or lifting a freshly roast chicken out of a roasting tin, perhpas picking a ham out of boiling water or even fishing chips out of sizzling fat, nothing is better - I wouldn't be without my Orkas.

For manipulation of smaller items they are not so good because they are a bit thick unless you have very strong hands. But the trade-off is that you simply will not get burnt (or even slightly warm) even if you put a soaking wet hand into the glove and then lift a roasting tin out of the oven - beats a steam-scald from wet tea towel every day of the week!
