Care and Use

The silicone heads are removable for easy cleaning. Simply place the silicone head in the dishwasher or wash in warm, soapy water. Due to the wooden handle, we would recommend that this part of the product be washed by hand.

Le Creuset Silicon Basting Brush
Having put up with bits of old bristles sticking to the griddle for years, I took the plunge and got the Silicon brush. This is a must-have gadget. It does exactly what it claims, carries a generous amount of oils between the combs and at the end of the day, the head pulls off and goes in the dishwasher.
This is not one of those items that you buy and hide away in the draw, never to be seen again.

Another good item from Le Creuset
I use this basting brush much more than I thought I would. Everything sticks to the brush without dripping over your counter top. It's great for basting food on the BBQ or in the oven. My latest use is to actually use it for reducing the oil (fat consumption) we use on foods. Rather than drizzling olive oil over potatoes, for example I am now just basting a little oil on during the cooking process. It works a treat.

There are also no worries about the wood splitting in the dishwasher. The only concern maybe that the brush retains whatever you've used so well, that the dishwasher doesn't get it all off.
