Le Creuset textiles are made of a unique combination of natural materials:

1st layer: commercial quality towelling – 100% cotton, an excellent natural insulator. Stain and splash resistant thanks to a special Teflon coating.

2nd layer: stitch bonded cotton interlining – extra protection from this traditional lining, a proven insulator.

3rd layer: integral steam/grease barrier – an additional layer to prevent dangerous transference of heat if gloves get wet or greasy during use.

4th layer: canvas - 100% cotton, stronger and more resistant than drill or jacquard. Teflon coated – the most durable coating available to resist stain and repel water.

Care and Use

Le Creuset textiles are fully washable and pre-shrunk.

For those who prefer a single glove....
There have been some mixed reviews over the efficiency of the actual thickness of this item.

For the record, I have to be persuaded to review a product I wouldn`t usually select for my own kitchen, preferring to opt out rather than give a lesser review than the item may deserve. After all, choosing and using kitchen linen comes down to personal preference, how big your casserole dishes are, and......maybe.......habit?

Having now tested `this gauntlet' it did do the job.
The 14"/36 cm length protects the wrist area, too.
But...... I have to admit that I still prefer Le Creuset's `Iron Handle Glove` for lifting hot handles from the hob and Le Creuset's `Double Oven Glove' for lifting seriously hot, largish casseroles from the oven, mainly because, for the latter, it felt safer to have the option of that two hand protection, when you really need it!

Perhaps a good excuse to buy two mitts, then!

Worth purchasing two of these mitts.
As I prefer oven mitts rather than the 'joined' oven gloves, I bought 2 of these Le Creuset mitts in cream and am very pleased with them. They offer good protection from the heat, I would recommend them, especially at the reduced price, which is excellent value for money.
