DIY haircuts have never been easier!
I held off a long time buying this due to the negative review, but the subsequent 4* review gave me more confidence.

Well, I've used it twice and it's fantastic. It's one of the few clippers out there with settings over 1 inch - the longest is 4.1cm, just over an inch and a half - which is why I considered it in the first place. I have used 4.1cm for the top, 3.6cm for the back and sides, and am very pleased with the results, which are a little neater than the scissor cut I normally get from my barber. The quality seems good; the clippers feel robust, and the adjustable guard works well. The unit comes with 2 guards: one for 3mm up to 2.1cm, the other from 2.3cm to 4.1cm. Twisting the base of the unit clicks the guard up and down from one length setting to the next. Unlike another reviewer, I don't see how one can easily change the setting accidentally.

The clippers come with a CD-ROM with a short instructional video to explain what to do. The clippers are straightforward enough to use that you can clip your own hair without worrying! You will need a 3-way mirror and a little patience to make a neat job of trimming the back and around the ears.

Note: my 5* rating is purely based on using the longer settings. If you normally have a "short scissor cut", then treat yourself to this! I have no idea how good it is for the low grades, and it might be the case that the 1* reviewer achieved better results with a more conventional clipper with individual guards for each setting.

Great cut and very useable
I read the other online review of these clippers and felt it was harsh and so have written this...apologies that you've read all this and haven't heard anything about the clippers yet!
These clippers are quality design..they're quite, cut precisely, charge and hold charge perfectly and everything works with that of feel over design...its seems their many years in epxerience of ergonomic design in irons has easily transferred over to thier clippers! The only thing i would be critcal of is that the adjustment of the hair cutting length is almost to easy to do during cutting itself meaning you can sometimes go down a grade without realising it. oh, and my one from argos came with parts missing so by from amazona and never from argos.
definately one for those summer hair cuts....

Rubbish
I ordered this product based on the fact it was a Phillips, so figured it would be well designed and liked the idea of setting the length by simply setting it on the trimmer. Unfortunately they make it very hard for you to cut the hair and as a result have a habit of leaving it uneven. It takes several times of going over a spot to get the cut you want. Stick with a regular hair trimmer. Don't buy this.
