Perfect for everyone
I received my fan yesterday and am already incredibly impressed. I decided to get a new fan as I had a large pedestal rotary fan, which both woke me up by being loud and was annoying to turn off/slow down as the controls were at the back.

On the first speed it is very quiet (didn't wake me at all), at the highest speed it's incredibly powerful (a friend expressed that tower fans weren't strong), and the oscillation is very good. The Remote makes it completely though, and is easy to use.

I'd recommend this for anyone really, three people I know have alrady ordered them. I use it for cooling generally, but would also be apt (especially with the breeze control) for a conservatory, beauty parlour or similar, as a corner unit.

Worthwhile, but not perfect...
Noise levels are an important aspect with fans, and the Bionaire is a quiet fan on low settings, and powerfull (although noisy) on higher settings. On first uses my fan made an odd sound and made the room smell of burning rubber, which was slightly worrying. It is therefore a very good thing that a three year warranty is included. The initial put-together stage is not the most user friendly thing I have ever seen; it required force and a screwdriver two simply secure the cable within. However, the controls are easy to use with good features (ie. rotation, timer, remote control which is simple), and this is what scores highly in my opinion. Design is a little crude and flimsy in parts, but has some nice touches such as a remote container and clear LED indicators. For £35 it's worth a good look.

Not that great after all!
I bought this fan about a month ago to use during the summer heat wave - what a BIG mistake!!! The fan wasn't really that effective for the summer heat & not as powerful as I had expected- in the end I had to go back to using my old standard fan which did the job much better than the Bionaire tower fan!

Despite this though the item is quite impressive with its special features: oscillation and 3 different speed settings. It is the remote control which is the best feature.

In general I would recommend this item for use in very mild summer or for general cooling. In extreme heat such as this summer, I suggest you opt for a standard pedestal fan.
