Henry Hound
After owning a Henry Plus for many years and a owner to a boxer dog who sheds tiny hairs every where I decided to purchase the Henry hound after looking for an up right hoover and previously owning a Dyson. My old henry will pick up just about every thing and has had some hammer over the years, but as soon as Henry hound came out what a difference- its quieter for a start, no wiffs from the bag as you hoover up and the turbo attatchment really picks up all those tiny hairs and more. Its light and easy to push along much lighter than an up right and with the attatchments is great for stairs, dusting cob webs off ceiling and a variety of floor covering with or without the turbo brush but the usual standard floor head.
The beauty of the turbo head is its easy to clean and the brush is easy to remove to de tangle loose hairs or loose threads that it may pick up on the way.
The kids love it as its green and my vacumming days are a breeze now.I'e got a clinder hoover with the power of an up right best of both worlds.
Would highly recommend if a pet owner or not.
Only down side is finding some where to house it as my broom cupboard is always full of junk!!
The best cleaner for dogs hair but with one weak point !!!
I had used the same Hoover Constellation and Hoover Junior for the last 40 years (YES, 40 yrs and still going strong), which were, as people who have used them will agree, the greatest vacuum cleaners ever made. The Constellation combined with the Hoover Junior almost bankrupted the Hoover company because they didn't break down and lasted too long, so that people did not purchase enough new vacuum cleaner for the company to survive. Hoover eventually stopped production of those two everlasting models and started to earn money again.
But all good things must come to an end and I decided to trade my trusted two old Hoovers for a modern Henry Hound, which actually performs the functions of both the cylinder Constellation and the upright Junior combined in one vacuum cleaner, the Henry Hound. First complained: the Hoover Constellation used 500W and had the same good suction as the Henry Hound with 1200W. Why do modern vacuum cleaner use so much electricity?
But the Henry has one other weak point. The handle is made from flimsy plastic. The plastic bends and when you push forward and back over your carpet, you get the feeling of using a cheap plastic hose/rod. I think the Henry is let down by this handle and I hope that Numatic will change this handle to a more solid one.
Otherwise I am pleased with the cleaning result. The attached 24V power brush takes up all dog and cat hair and the carbon filter suppresses the smell you get when you vacuum areas where animals live.
Would I recommend this cleaner? Yes, and ask Numatic to have another think about this terrible weak plastic handle and either use stronger plastic which doesn't bend or better still use metal for its construction in the future. I give it 4 stars because of the flimsy handle.
Efficient Henry Hound
It's every thing you want from a vacuum cleaner, efficient, sturdy, quiet, reasonable price compared to Dyson and Vax and dose every thing it says on the box at. The turbo electric power brush really performs well, the hose is very long and the rewind and storage system for the electric cable is very effective (unlike the Dyson whose re-wind would stop after only re-winding a foot of cable). It out strips the over priced Dyson, the one I had slowly gave up cleaning altogether, even after expensive replacement parts being lavished on it. I replaced that with a Vax Machine but the suction on the cleaning head was laughable. The only disadvantages I can see are you can't carry all the tools on board and you need a large storage cupboard.
