Too Much Water!
I have done a lot of research into ironing boards, as ideally we wanted to put our steam generator on it rather than on the floor. Because of this, we previously ended up with a huge Vileda board from Argos. It obviously did not work and this time we compromised on the generator being on the floor and opted for a small one.

This board may be too small for people who do a lot of ironing, but it works well for us. It is light so I do not have to struggle when putting it up or taking it down.

The only but major problem is that it cannot absorb all the steam Philips GC7230 Pressurised Steam System Iron 2200W produces. Even if you use the steam function sparingly, you will be left with a lot of water on the floor. I used it to iron five shirts with steam, and after a couple I could already see a patch of water on the floor. There were a lot of water drops hanging from the mesh waiting to come down. Given our floor is laminate, I am having to wipe the floor after each use which I could do without.

Having said that, the board is stable and the height adjustment mechanism moves smoothly, which is a relief. These are important features but maybe something that come as standard with any Brabantia ironing boards. Perhaps we should have purchased a more expensive one, but for now I will probably have to get some ironing foam to give another layer to the board.

too good to be true
I was blinded by what a good deal this seemed but when it arrived I was surprised at how small the size of the board was. The height was also supposed to be adjustable to 95 cm but in actual fact only adjusts to 92 cm, a big difference if you suffer with a bad back. So with hindsight this board is very good if you want a stable small and compact ironing board but not much use to a family of five with a large ironing pile.

Just Perfect!
Having struggled with a large and heavy board for so long, this board is pure delight. It is light and takes little effort to put up or down but is substantial enough to be sturdy under use. It takes up less space as well.
