    Great Toast, Great Looks5
I was a bit reluctant to part with so much money for a toaster.I'm sure that the last one I bought only cost a fiver, but that was a long tme ago! I kept returning to this model though, as it looked so good and the other family members agreed that it looked cool. Aesthetically it has not dissapointed. The toaster is well constructed, with sturdy dials and leavers. Of course the most important attribute of a toaster must be how it toasts. We have tried just about everything, bread of all types, muffins, crumpets, toasting croisants, scones and buns. All have toasted wonderfully. The smaller items are easily retrievable using the "high lift" leaver. The toasting is even and once the correct setting is chosen, perfect for each item. The toasted item is always warmed all the way through, not just cooked on the outside. I can particullarly recommend the toasting croisants! The reheating button also works really well. The reheated toast was warmed, but not cooked further. Altogether this toaster has lived up to, if not surpassed expectations. It has pride of position in our kitchen.

    A good toaster!4
I am writing this review because when I was looking in to buying one I relied on reading these to choose it! A few of my friends have purchased a Dualite Toaster in the past for £140!! I hadn't even heard of them and thought they were mad but when it came to finding a toaster for my brand new kitchen I found myself actually considering it - my mother thought I was mad (always listen to your Mother!) so I came on Amazon and checked out what everyone thought and yes the Dualite does get raved about but £140! and another stainless appliance to keep clean! So I choose this one and I do not regret it. It toasts nicely, I pop Crumpets and Hot cross buns in it and they're great - yes they could pop up a bit higher but so what - it looks good and is easy to keep clean. Everytime I put my bread it in (once a day) I think "Thank Goodness I didn't spend £140!" I haven't used the frozen buttons or the repeat buttons yet and can't iamgine when I will. But it looks great in my new kitchen and it works - what more do you need?

    Nice-looking, excellent browning controls -- a good buy5
This is a nice-looking toaster -- adorns the kitchen in a sort of 50s retro way. Has a lovely smooth action, quite elegant in the way it pops up -- the toast not so much pops as emerges. The browning control is the best I've ever had (ie doesn't go from white to black in .0001 of a nanometer turn) -- you get a really responsive control that genuinely gives you grades of browning as you move from 1-5. Takes hot cross buns very nicely. The only downside is the slot length -- if you have big bread slices (eg from a breadmaker) you'll need to cut them in half or trim them before they'll fit. I was disappointed by this at first, but now I've got used to it the good features far outweigh this, which doesn't bother me now. The warm-again feature is good: I've used it already. Separate operation (with separate controls) for two/two is also very good. Overall: a very nice toaster -- glad I bought it.

NB. I've had it two years now (2008) and it's all gone a bit pear-shaped I'm afraid. Only one side toasts properly now, and the browning control now only takes up to mid-brown.
