A great pair of items for the modern kitchen
Firstly we bought these items separately, so it is a shame we did not know about the gift pack option. The kettle is good-looking and chrome finished with a large capacity and a 2200W heater that ensures that it works fast. The toaster is also chrome finished and has a wide vent so that it can toast quite a lot of bread (I hate these little toasters that do one slice at a time). These are more expensive that many competing brands, but there appear to be better made (only time will tell), and they look good.

Low power, hard to clean, can't see how much water in kettle
The kettle is slow to boil because of the low power rating, this is the first reason it is less efficient, but the real killer is you cannot easily see how much water is in the kettle, meaning you are frequently boiling more water than you need thus wasting electricity. Toaster OK. But really this set is only for people who only care about looks and not about energy consumption, and thus the environment.
Buy a 3.1 KW jug kettle which can easily be cleaned and makes it easy to estimate how much water to boil.
