Wii darts game or old fashioned dart-board?
We have had this game for just a week and I'm so frustrated with it!! The first go I had I was completely rubbish but then seemed to get the hang of it. My husband tried but could not throw one dart!! He just could not get used to the difficult style of throwing. It's very inconsistent when you press A to release your dart as it doesn't always leave your hand. I have had another go and I had to put it away in my frustration. It's certainly not living up to what I thought it would be like. I should have got a dart board instead!!!
it's really pretty good
lots of negative reviews of this one, so i thought i'd throw in (pun intended) my thoughts. i love watching darts and i'd had my eye on the game since i saw it come out, but i waited for a better price given the poor reviews. at £13 or so on amazon, it didn't seem like a big risk if i didn't like it.
i started off trying to play the game with the dart throwing motion using the wiimote. after an hour or two i was struggling to keep my cool. the odds on the dart being released with the A button were about 1 in 2 or 3 attempts. when it did release it was impossible to judge the power or direction. i tried again with similar results. so rather than write a bad review i picked up the instruction manual and found there was an alternate control mechanism. so i plugged my nunchuk into my wiimote. i pointed with the wiimote and used the nunchuk to throw the dart. and in the treble. sweet.
once you suss out the control mech the gameplay is awesome and frighteningly addictive, just like the real thing. i am a little disappointed that it's turned out to be a good darts game rather than a simulation of real darts, but as i'd hoped, for £13 it's well worth it.
Poor
I was really excited when I saw this game. I struggle to find games that my husband and I can play together, but this seemed ideal. However it became obvious very very quickly that this really wasn't going to fit the bill. The controls are really difficult to master and there is nothing to really help. I think I'll trade this in asap.
