Mrs Gadgetshop is a very patient lady. However even she starts to get somewhat irate after I've asked her to sing me a lullaby for the 10th time in a night as I can't quite rock myself to sleep. You see this splendiferous product requires no headphones as there is a speaker built inside the pillow. And here's where it gets a bit Princess and the Pea. Excellent product, very comfy.
The other reviewer must be a really light sleeper, or his wife must have it cranked up to full volume, because I've been using this with no problems at all! The speaker is positioned in the middle, right where your head sits, and is perfectly audible at low volumes at bed time (I'm using an ipod Nano to watch videos on). My missus flakes out with no complaint, and says she can barely hear it from her side of the bed.

The pillow element itself is pretty good too. I've not used a memory foam pillow before, so it takes a little bit of getting used to, but I had a really good night's sleep and could feel my neck and body being aligned correctly, as the pillow says it should do.

Overall I would thoroughly recommend this product, but would remind people that memory foam pillows (as with mattresses) take a little time to get used to, and may not be an overnight (zing!) success.

Incredibly noisy! will disrupt partners everywhere
I am REALLY disappointed with this product. I was so looking forward to getting this as a gift for my wife so she didnt have to wear earphones when she wanted to fall asleep to music.
Problem is its sooo noisy. with someone resting with their head over the speaker I can hear the music and lyrics clearly from across the (quiet) room!!

it totally defies the point of designing such an item and would cause issues even in a dorm yet alone when you lie down next to your loved one.

If you have a child who has issues with sleeping then perhaps this would be good if they have their own room, although then you may as well put the stereo on quietly next to their bed. Even with it at its quietest so the intended listener can just about hear it. the partner will hear it just as well.

Great idea for a lone sleeper but unless your partner doesnt mind listening to your music (in which case put the stereo on and get a better sound) or is a narcoleptic DONT buy this product!

Too small
Unfortunately, this pillow, whilst 'almost' comfortable is just far too small...and I don't normally mind small pillows.

The speaker however is another matter, it's superb, truly. Loud enough for easy hearing with my ipod at about 1/2 volume.


A tip....if you've already got the pillow, carefully separate the two halves where the cable enters and you'll be able to remove the speaker and keep the little pillow just for situations where a diddy pillow is enough (car journeys and the like)...otherwise pop the speaker under your own pillow and happily fall asleep to your favorite tunes/audiobook.
