Great value for an iron with automatic shut-off5
This iron was a very recent purchase, chosen because it has an automatic shut off. This is a wonderfully useful feature which shuts the iron off if it falls onto its soleplate, or if it stands unused for more than eight minutes. Normally, irons with this facility are at the upper end of the price range, c. £35- £40.
The iron is very easy to operate, clear markings on the dial indicate the settings at a quick glance, the main body is transparent meaning that the level of water is instantly seen, and the shot of steam facility is very efficient. In steam operation it removes creases very efficiently, but doesn't drip water when switched to lower temperatures. It's not too heavy, but weighty enough to make it efficient, with a decent cable length. It's so new, that I haven't tried the self-cleaning facility as yet, but in previous Breville irons this has worked well. Definitely recommended.

    A GREAT BUY5
This has got to be the best irons I've owned so far. Glides easily, automatic shut off, easier to fill than most, and, being left handed, easier to use than most.
I purchased in the sale and wondered, with such a huge reduction, how good it would be, but I am really pleased. Ironing is not half the chore it was!

    Great value4
We just bought this iron when our Philips Mistral bit the dust, like the last one at just over one year old so after expiry of warranty. Grrr! The Breville was such an amazing price at under £18 that we couldn't choose anything else. Amazon delivery was super-quick even on super-saver. The iron does everything the old one did plus has the auto-shut-off (very helpful for us) and a bit more steam power. The quality of finish feels poorer than the Philips one we used to have, but that one only lasted a year so perhaps impressions aren't as important as what is going on inside. So far it works fine. We are having to get used to a stainless steel soleplate again, and the steam control is a bit "all or nothing" but apart from that very happy for the money. Before buying I saw several reviews on this iron on other sites, all positive.

ONE MONTH UPDATE: still happy with this as great value but we are finding that ironing takes a bit longer, due to the steam production being somewhat erratic; cycles of blasts then dry, rather that continuous low level steam.
