Great little blower
Bought this along with the Bionaire BAC14 High Velocity Air Circulator as something of a belated attempt to keep cool this summer.

This was my first tower fan, and I was a little leery at first as to how it'd perform over a conventional fan. I'm glad to say that my concerns were unfounded, as it provides excellent airflow. Its a little noisy at the highest speed setting, which might be distracting to some when its only sitting a few feet away. Personally I found the lowest setting more than enough in terms of cooling power.

The size of the fan is excellent and a big plus over conventional desk fans with small footprints, since you can stuff it in the corner of the desk next to other things and it won't bang into them as it oscillates.

My only gripe (and its a minor one!) is that the controls are on the moving part of the fan meaning if you want to turn it up or off while the thing is oscillating it can be a bit of a pain as the buttons are quite solid. That said it doesn't turn very fast so it isn't really a big deal.

Its worth mentioning that the base and rear of my fan were silver, as with the front.

More useful information: the width of the fan is around 14cm at its widest point with the base having a diameter of 12cm.

whisper quiet is a lie
No noisier than a 9" desktop fan, but I bought this on the strength of it being "whisper quiet" as in the product spec. It's no quieter, still vibrates and hums just like normal fans. Disappointing. On lowest setting, air flow is still too much, would prefer a gentle breeze (as is on a desk, by my computer, i.e. less than a metre away...)

Brilliant little unit
I'm really pleased with this little beauty. It's small and light, so ultra portable, and is quieter on its middle setting than my traditional desk fan is on its first! I bought it to use in the bedroom as the original one was waking me up with its racket.

The timer settings are useful - I can set it to switch off after an hour or two, by which time, with any luck, I'll be in the land of nod. Oh, and one last thing, it's stylish, unlike some of the other models around.
