Amazon.co.uk Review
Fast & Furious feels like something of a reunion for the popular franchise. After neither filled out the starring roles in the third film, Tokyo Drift, both Vin Diesel and Paul Walker returned to the franchise for this fourth, and between them managed to power it to become the most successful in the series to date.

With Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster also returning, Fast & Furious goes back to the streets where the series started, as once-rivals Diesel and Walker face, for the first time, a shared enemy. This, of course, is just the necessary groundwork before all concerned can jump into a series of impressive vehicles and drive them really, really quickly. Which, of course, they do.

It’s brilliantly shot, too, with razor-sharp editing, fast pacing and some outstanding camerawork that leaves you feeling at the very heart of the action. There’s not a great script underpinning it all, and a few more action sequences wouldn’t hurt, but the slower moments are ably carried by the returning cast. It’s hard to work out whether Fast & Furious needed Diesel and Walker the most, or whether the actors themselves needed the film, but marrying them all together really does pay dividends.

Naturally enough, there’s scope left behind for a fifth film, which given the major success that Fast & Furious deservedly enjoyed is no threat whatsoever. It might not be anywhere near the most intelligent film you’ll see in your life, but it’s a movie that knows what it wants to do, and has a great deal of fun doing it. More, please… --Jon Foster

DVD Description
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker re-team for the ultimate chapter of the franchise built on speed--Fast & Furious. Heading back to the streets where it all began, they rejoin Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster to blast muscle, tuner and exotic cars across Los Angeles and floor through the Mexican desert in the new high-octane action-thriller.

When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto (Diesel) re-ignites his feud with agent Brian O’Conner (Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to out-manoeuvre him. From convoy heists to precision tunnel crawls across international lines, two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what’s possible behind the wheel.

Now this is more like it!5
Ever since the first Fast And The Furious, the other two films haven't quite stacked up, for very different reasons. Now this new film, the forth film, has brought the franchise back to life. It has shoved the rubbish that was 2Fast 2Furious out of the way, and has brought the third film (Tokyo Drift) into the trilogy properly.

I went to see this film today, and man, was I entertained. All of the race sequences have been made properly, you feel like you're part of the race, you feel involved. The cars are perfect for the film. Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) has the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, and the new Subaru Impreza WRX. These cars are perfect for Brian's character, and for the film. Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) has a Chevrolet Chevelle SS, and his legendary Dodge Charger through the film. These cars suit the characters, and the film perfectly. Other main cars in the film include a new Shelby Mustang, a Porsche 911 GT3, and an old Ford Gran Torino. Toretto's Charger and Fenix's Gran Torino have a briiliant chase through the tight tunnels near the end of the film.

Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) are back, and Han (Sung Kang) who was a key character in Tokyo Drift. The acting is a lot more professional in this film, compared to the others. You can feel and understand the characters thoughts and emotions. I would say this is Vin Diesel's finest moment, he's done himself proud with this film. Also Paul Walker has shown that he is a very very good actor. This film is a lot deeper, and the storyline and the plot is extremely well written. The Director of Tokyo Drift, Justin Lin, is back, and it really shows in the action sequences, and throughout the film. Also the music used in the film is used very well, and fits the feel and vibe of the action brilliantly.

If you felt that the Fast And The Furious franchise was dead, then this will change your mind. Forget that 2Fast 2Furious exists, put this film in it's place, then you'll see the whole franchise in a different light.

I have already bought The Fast And The Furious, and Tokyo Drift on Blu-Ray, and I cannot wait to stick this film in between them on my shelf. I really hope they make another one now. Having a plot that is set in between this film and Tokyo Drift would work very well, but also if they decided to have a plot for after Tokyo Drift, that would work very well too. There are endless possibilites for the franchise now.

A BIG thumbs up, to anyone interested in cars, whether you've seen the other films or not. It's a great watch.

Disappointing3
In 'Fast and Furious' (which is based between the second and third movies), the original cast return to the driving seats when Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Connor (Paul Walker) are forced to team up again to find a common enemy, meaning that they have to join the starting line once again in the world of illegal street racing.

As a massive fan of the first three films I was really excited about seeing this one and although it was good to see the cast and characters from the original, it felt as if the fun and excitement of the other movies in the series had been taken away as this film is a lot darker and more serious than the others and, for me anyway, I felt that they should have stuck to the original formula as this was no way near as good as the others.

The action and special effects were good - especially the opening scene and the one with the tunnels when they were crossing the border, but other than that there were only 2 other chase/race scenes! The acting was not too bad, the script was a little confusing at times, maybe because it was moving at such a snail's pace I lost focus on what I was watching, but the plot wasn't all that different from the original.

Overall I was disappointed with this film - it was a average , slow paced and unoriginal. If you're a fan of the others it probably is worth a watch as it does tie up some loose ends from before and also bridges the gap between 2Fast 2Furious and Tokyo Drift but is not one I'm likely to watch again.
