Great alternative to a neck strap
I was getting hacked off with the neck strap getting in the way when using my camera and was looking for a secure hand strap. This Nikon strap does the job brilliantly, pricey (hence 4 instead of 5 stars) but well made and a very snug fit when adjusted. Currently fitted to my Fuji S3 pro it grips the back of your hand and wrist really securely and I'm no longer worried about using the camera neck strap free and dropping it. Recommended.
Nikon AH-4 Handstrap
Great product - shame about the price though !! This is a very expensive product but then what Nikon product is not ? Still for what it is, it is I think greatly overpriced but is of good quality. Feels and makes my camera more secure but I've always tended towards handgrips in any case. Did take ages to arrive but I guess that this is because it's quite rare to come by. The bottom plate of the AH-4 screws into the tripod thread of your camera and even has its own tripod thread albeit off centre thus rendering the camera the same when attached to a tripod. Still you could always unscrew this plate (leaving the AH-4 to dangle from the other end at the camera eyelet) and use that of the camera instead when using a tripod. Attaching at the eyelet end may prove testing for some especially if keeping a neck strap attached simultaneously. Shame there is no quick release mechanism at the camera eyelet end but then at this price it should be permanently attached - I guess !
