Pleasantly Suprised!!!
After reading the previous review I nearly didn't buy this item...
Eventually bought it beacause I really wanted the box as it matched perfectly with the fabric on my toile bedroom curtains.
I wasn't expecting too much for £13.00 but received a very pleasant suprise! The product is lovely, the toiletries looks fab and l'm chuffed to bits with my purchase - the only problem is it far too nice to actually use, so will sit proudly for 'display purposes only'!
Not Gift Giving Quality Looks Horrible
I bought three 'Winter in Venice' sets this Christmas and this was the only disappointing one. In the end I didn't give it as a gift as it looks awful. The box rather than looking stylish and quality looks like it has been covered by a badly printed sack with a very large weave. The brown sack colour is a lot darker in reality than the pale cream colour it appears in the photo on my monitor. The deal breaker though is the body polish. It completely seperates into what looks like a layer of fat oil over a layer of vaseline. It looks truly disgusting. I did try shaking the entire set vigorously which did combine the contents for a few minutes but then they separated into an awful looking concoction again.
It looks cheap and nasty and even worse than hotel sets.
Please also note that the pattern shown nicely lined up and centred on the front of the set (main big pictures in the middle of the description page) is not what you'll recieve. I just have corners and offcuts of pictures - it seems to be completely random which section of the fabric/sack toile design you will receive.
The Winter in Venice Gardeners set is a much better buy - I gave that one 5 stars.

The SCRUB is oil based and similar to many leading brands
I'm writing in reference to Debbie8355's review on the scrub and I would like to add that my partner received this set as a leaving present from her friends at work. Whilst I love all things manly and play football on a Sunday, I have no problem admitting that I often use her shower gels, scrubs and lotions as we both enjoy relaxing in a bath from time to time. On closer examination of the Scrub I was relieved to say that it is of very good quality as I have used several OIL BASED SCRUBS before from the likes of The Body Shop, L'occitane and now Bomb Cosmetics. This type of scrub is meant to have an oil base. Whilst the salt scrub exfoliates the skin, the oil acts as a moisturiser like baby oil would. When I applied it my skin felt immediately moisturised, and I didn't even have to apply any baby oil like I do after a shower.- we men have Rhino skin!!.. Personally I think the Scrub is lovely and very effective on dry skin areas like my elbows and knees. There is nothing wrong with it and Oil based scrubs or body polishes are meant to feel and look this way. I think the colour is due to the natural ingredients used in the product as no oil is clear unless it's got some awful preservative in it. (mind you now a day's most baby oils have preservatives in them). I didn't want anyone to be deterred from buying it because it really is a superb gift and my Partner uses the box to put all sorts in. Thanks Amazon. - Dr.M
