Customer Reviews

on the buses series 43
I concour with the previous reviewer.
A majority of the episodes are former cinema club ex VHS releases and are therefore devoid of the correct idents and break pauses.
The comedy is present but the authenticity isn't.
Not a disc for the purists.
The "Home to roost" discs are superb and complete in every aspect!.

Another series of this great sit. com.5

This was the fourth season of this amazing hit comedy series. In many ways, not one of the best batch of episodes, though it does contain one: 'The Anniversary', that is exceptionally funny, when both Stan and Jack manage to get poor old 'Blakey' to eat some dog biscuits!! In a couple of others, we are treated to Arthur looking good in his 'leathers' and Olive actually has an admirer in the form of a lodger! In another we also see Stan in drag - unusual stuff to say the least!!

This season would include the first of the Christmas 'specials', but the whole set is marred by the notorious strike action that affected much of the production of colour material back then, which resulted in most of the episodes in this season being done in black and white.

On The Buses: Series Four2
Well it looks as though Network DVD were sold a pup on this release by Granada Ventures. They've supplied Network with the Cinema Club master tapes which have been hacked to ribbons. There are no London Weekend Television (LWT) idents or endboards and no add break bumpers.

The episode "The Inspector's Niece" was not originally released by Cinema Club due to rights issues, so is presented here intact.

If you've got the Cinema Club tapes or any off air copies, it's really not worth upgrading to this release.
