Sam Fisher is back, but he's not playing the good guy any more. Gaming's most dangerous super spy has quit working for the Third Echelon, disgusted by his old department's corruption and distraught over the loss of his daughter. When he discovers her death was no accident he begins to track down those responsible…

Now that he's on his own and out for revenge there's less emphasis on stealth and more on all out action and unrestricted body counts. Environments are more interactive too, with almost any object ready to be used as a weapon. Plus you can climb onto and around almost every piece of architecture to set-up your ambushes.
Not only are the graphics better than ever but they're cleverer too - displaying mission objectives on the side of walls and using new visual aids to help keep you one step ahead of the terrorists.
Key Features- New man: Sam Fisher returns at last, with the biggest overhaul in Splinter Cell's history and a new, more brutal style of action.
- Target acquired: New "mark and execute" feature lets you lock-on to an enemy and fire at them automatically, no matter what else you're doing.
- Visual clues: In-game aids bleed the colour from the screen when you're hidden in shadows or let you know where enemies think you are with a special silhouette.
- Low tech: Sam's working on his own now, so instead of a high tech optical cable to sneak looks beneath doors he has to make do with a car mirror instead.
- In the sandbox: Larger, more interactive levels let you make the choice between a full frontal assault or a more stealthy surprise attack.
Ubisoft's huge development studio in Canada has created many of the French publisher's biggest hits, including the Splinter Cell series, the modern Prince of Persia games, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Assassin's Creed, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja and the Far Cry sequels and spin-offs.

PLAY IT FIRST
C'mon guys, your just quoting mags and sites here, how bout' you wait til February, buy it (or pre order if you like), play it for some hours and then, and only then, write a review on it, so we all can read someting constuctive.
the latest splinter cell isn't splinter cell!
i dont understand what Ubisoft are doing!, all there games are becomming chase games since the creation of assasins creed! i loved the first 3 splinter cell games but Ubi seem to feel the need to update the games constantly! this isnt true, the original was near to flawless but since double agent it has started to go down hill
if you want solid stealth action for your Xbox 360 or ps3 go with assasins creed, for stealth on the Ps2 or Xbox just buy the original splinter cells or metal gear solid!
Dont you read the mags i do?
Disclamer: This is not a reveiw (DUH! it isn't out yet)
All this about it being assassins creed all over again is bull! While Ubi may have made it so that it takes advantage of the (in my opinion excellent) chase engine used in assassins creed doesn't meen it will not have that classic splinter cell feel. A point to be made also, The evaision of police in central park is only *PART* of the game, according to the mags I have read there will also be the good old fashioned shadow hugging game play of the originals. Like i said this is not a reveiw of the game, I own assassins creed and so wish to sever the false connections made by other die hard fans.
And so i raise my night vision goggles to splinter cell and salute its un faltering uniqueness!
