I was searching through the website looking for guides to India for my travels, then a came accross this little gem. It is a must for anyone wanting to enhance their travels of India, it improved my trip 100% and made me feel so much safer and gave me such a greater understanding of the country and people. I love it.

Useful if you need a book to replace common sense3
Although there were a couple of useful things to know in this book there were really no massive revelations. In my experience as long as you are a normal, decent respectful person with an ounce of common sense you will get by fine. I made a couple of social faux pas in my time in India but because I was polite people either quietly pointed them out - trying not to embarrass me - or found it all rather amusing.
In a way I found with this book that it could make people rather paranoid about trying to remember all these minor conventions and social etiquettes. Be nice, be polite and observe what others do - that's it.

0-100 in a day5
This is a very good little book for people who dont know much about India but want to learn more probably because of visiting India or working with Indians. It explains all that is required very concisely and quite well. Ofcourse as you may expect there are lots of finer details missing but it still deserves a good rating for its content.

One of my colleague who didnt know much about India or Indians went through the entire book (170 pages) in a 8 hour flight and by the end of his journey knew exactly what India is and how Indians behave.

One point to note is that some of the statistics are not up to date and you may want to refer to CIA factbook for more updated details.
