Go Climb
'Go Climb' is a great place to turn for that first foray into climbing terms and instruction. It is beautifully presented with great photography and clear writing. It goes through all the aspects of climbing step by step, from clothing to basic rope techniques, types of climbing, climbing techniques, places to climb, a comprehensive glossary, good climbing websites and way more besides. The DVD is an excellent accompaniment and shows the ideas in the books in closer detail and in practise. I would suggest this book is used in conjunction with qualified instruction, this book suggests that you can read it and go out on your own, which I wouldn't really recommend. Saying that, this book does cover many things you will learn in those first few lesson with an instructor. Overall a clear, well presented introduction to climbing, with the added bonus of the instructional DVD. Well worth a look.
Excellent Beginners Guide
Great book - dvd is a bonus and works well with chapters. Happy with purchase.
