Excellent from start to finish
Vigilante is one of those very few albums that you can stick on at track 1 and let it run to the end - knowing there isn't a poor track on the album. On a par with Leppard's legendary Pyromania.
Magnum have made such classic tracks as On a Storyteller's Night & Kingdom of Madness, but for complete classic albums I'd recommend Vigilante and Wings of Heaven. Pure brilliance!
Classic Album
This was the very first album i ever bought by Magnum and i still think it sounds as good ever. Very melodic with some catchy songs. Well worth a listen
Overproduced but the quality shines through
No doubt the most successful Album of Magnum and has some greatsongs-namely whole of the first 5 songs, when the walls come down and vigilante with a few forgetfuls.
I still prefer Story tellers Night but this is a good Album and despite not ageing well owing to the over-production suffered by many at the time, the song writing and delivery is to usual high standard.
Wings of Heaven the next album could not build on this success and the band then spiralled downhill never making the impact they deserved as the band could make good albums, had great live shows and wrote their own material usually nearly every other year throughout the 80's which, these days is unthinkable.
