Customer Reviews

still producing the goods5
This album proves that Magnum are still at the top of their game when it comes to quality rock music. If you are a Magnum fan then you cant go wrong with this excellent album.

A grower, plenty of evidence that Magnum have more to offer3
Magnum are back! A real drummer, Harry James and some proper Magnum songs mean they're back in business on this album. A stronger selection of songs than Breath Of Life and with better production too, this album harks back to the days of old. Perhaps the only criticism one could level here is the tempo, all the songs are mid-paced. The follow-up, Princess Alice is superb (even better) but suffers a similar 'ploddy' tendency which renders them more mellow late-night chillout albums than ones you'd play before a night out!

Okay, but there are better ones3
Okay. Just bought this CD on the back of buying Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow, and quite frankly they are poles apart. This comes as a disappointment bearing in mind the good reviews that Brand New Morning has received on this site. If you are looking for the old Magnum, buy Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow. Many reviewers have been saying it is the best since On a StoryTeller's Night, not least because of the fab cover. And, I have to agree - it is. So imagine buying that CD, then following it with Brand New Morning - no comparison. Brand New Morning is good, and for diehard Magnum fans it is worth having - but I cant imagine playing this in 2 or 3 months time, whilst Princess Alice will become a favourite of mine. Brand New Morning is good, but never 5 stars - you have been warned.
