Not bad but not a great read.3
I have just finished reading this book and whilst it gave an insight into the lifestyle of ex pats in the late 80's I foun d it was a bit flat, it was written similarly to Carol Drinkwaters tales in Southern France.

Perhaps I am being a little unfair as I compare this writing to that of Peter Kerr and Chris Stewart, in my opinion better and funnier writers.

If you like tales of what cats get up to living in Andalucia then this may be for you, but not for me..

A VERY FUNNY YET MOVING BOOK5
This account of life as it really is for your average couple without much money in the Spanish countryside, warts and all, made me laugh until my sides hurt. The illustrations are excellent and add another dimension. I can't wait for "what happened next", what about it Alex?

not so cushy!!5
An interesting and amusing insight into life in a foreign country in the 80's. All of us stuck in our 'way of life' imagine an easy lifestlye for all those who choose to go and live in warmer climes !! NOT SO ! This book illustrates just how versatile and resourceful people have to be to try and make things work when outside influences have such an impact on day to day life but as the book shows, a sense of humour is vital to pave the way to success and just to keep going against the odds!! Book 2 on it's way?
