Editorial Reviews
From the Author
Sarah Parkes writes: "I've been travelling to Zagreb with
Piers ever since we started researching the Bradt Guide to Croatia in 2002,
and it remains one of my favourite cities in the world. Big enough to boast
great cultural events, gigs, cafés, bars, nightclubs and restaurants, and a
terrific vibe at any time of year; but small enough to manage on foot or by
Zagreb's wonderful clanking trams. It's a city of wonderful contrasts -
between the great Habsburg splendour of the lower town and the steep paved
streets of the upper; between monumental museums and galleries on the one
hand and intimate bars and clubs on the other; between the busy urban city
below and the sweeping forests on Mount Medvednica above; between
Italian-style ice-cream and hearty Croatian specialities.
It's a real pleasure to have been able to spend so much time in Zagreb over
the past few years, and to research and write this new guide to the city -
the most comprehensive, useful, up-to-date and (we hope) amusing work
you'll find on the subject."

Worth picking up
My niece Sophie recently travelled to Zagreb, and this book was with her every minute (I recommended it to her before she left). Don't leave home (for Zagreb anyway) without it!!
Brilliant handy city guide
I've been to many cities in my life and used many different city guides and I must say that this is by far the best. It is very informative, user friendly and most importantly, interesting. This is a very easy read book, making it a perfect guide that covers everything you need to know. I really can't recommend it enough.
