It's finally here!
The eagerly awaited Albert Hall dvd arrived 2 days ago and its simply stunning.Having seen the set twice the week before this concert was filmed I had a good idea just how good it was going to be.The guitar work is everything you would expect from slow burning blues to blistering solos, and the band augmented by a brass section and second drummer really rise to the occasion.Great to see 'the biggest Clapton fan ever' and the man himself trading licks on 'Further on up the Road'.JB plays like his life depends on it.Thank goodness the blues is alive and well and in this guys hands can only further the cause. This really is as good as its ever going to get.

I was at this concert and an unashamed fan of this man and his music. He is without doubt, the greatest modern guitar virtuoso, a fact that everyone will come to realise in the very near future. Even Eric Clapton regards him as "amazing". This DVD is sure to capture the emotion of that night, Joe's humility, Eric Clapton sharing the stage with him, later to be joined by Paul Jones from Radio One who joined him on harmonica backed by a solid band. His regular band members Rick Mellick, Bogie Bowles and Carmine Rohas were joined by powerhouse Anton Fig on drums and a horn section. The sound has been mixed by Kevin Shirley so there is no doubt that this will be the DVD of the year for me, and probably you.
PREVIEW ONLY!
I saw Joe at the 'warm up' gig at Sheffield City Hall before his appearance at the RAH. All I would say is that on this night he was on fire and can surely claim to be the most accomplishesd all round guitarist in the world. Blues?- easy. Rock?-easy. Acoustic?-easy. Shred?- easy. I agree with the other reviewer this should be the musical DVD release of 2009- can't wait!
