Its cheap and it works!
I bought this for making my car stereo installation hobby a little easier. It does just that.

Its not much bigger than my mobile phone, it has a soft plastic outer casing to protect it from clumsy people like me and comes with a battery.

Among the features it has a diode tester, resistance tester, AC current, DC current and a 9V battery tester. For the AC, DC and resistance tests it has a number of ranges which you can select with dial depending on whether you are testing a car battery or something bigger (up to 200v I believe). The AC range is ample for testing mains current.

I'm no electrician but it suits my hobby fine. A tenner well spent.

Compact and handy
This meter requires a small (3cm long) 12 volt battery, type A23S. The one supplied with the meter was dead on receipt and this type is not that easy to find in the shops (luckily I have a Maplin's store handy!) I do not know the expected battery life, but another time I will select something which uses a more common type of battery.

Nice piece of kit!
I have one of these to test AC volts and Resistance. Both work fine! There is enough fuctions on it to do what any normal DIY user needs! My only complaint is that is doesnt have a buzzer on it, which is really useful, but this wont effect my review as i didnt claim to have one! P.S i work as a lighting technician and this is what i use in my tool box so cant be bad! well recommend!
