The Bond series of Maths books provide a series of 'papers' within the book, 24 I think in this one. Each paper has 50 questions. Every paper has a selection of different maths problems, such as percentages, graphs, symmetry problems, means, fractions, number series, shapes, angles, arithmetic etc. and each paper should take 30 minutes to complete.

All the answers are provided (make sure you remove them from the book so your child can't cheat!) although there is no teaching as such, so if you don't know how to get to the answer you will have to ask someone else. There is a key on the second page which explains some of the maths words. All the papers are designed so that you write directly onto the book, which keeps everything very neat and tidy - no loose bits of paper.

I started by just getting my child to do 15 mins per day, working through the book, and I helped out if they got stuck on a question, therefore using it as a teaching tool. Later on I got them to 'sit' a whole paper every Saturday morning.

There is also a fifth book is 10 - 11+, which is the last one in the series, this, the fourth, is good for an able year 5 child, so aged 10 to 11. There are also books before this one for younger children.

Overall this is an excellent way of practising all the different types of maths problems, so constantly revising all topics, and is great if your child is about to sit an exam.

I love them, even if my kids are not so fond of them!
