useful guide to building confidence in literacy (year 3 )
Each of the 20 papers in this book is designed to be done in 30 mins, and includes a written comprehension section followed by a vocab/grammar section. The scoring for each question is clearly shown, and the answers are in a (pullout!) section in the middle. The book is set out well, with a black & white illustration for each passage, and a good range of genres e.g. poetry, recipe, different styles of fiction, etc. There is a scoring chart at the back to monitor progress. I have used this with my 8yr old (yr3) daughter, to build her confidence in this type of work, sometimes working through a paper together. I can highly recommend it.
