Customer Reviews
Enchanting throughout
This is a beautiful album - ideal for "those" days.
All songs are enchanting.
(I bought this album just on the basis of hearing "Perfect Day" on the Beatrix Potter series on the television and am delighted!)
It is a calm reflective album and Miriam's soaring vocals are an pleasure.
I particularly enjoyed her cover version of the Peter Gabriel song "Mercy Street" which made me look at this song in a totally different light.
I am now buying her other album "Second Nature"!
One of the best CDs I own.
I loved this CD. I enjoyed Adiemus, but I think this is better. It was relaxing, inspiring, emotional and narrative all at once. I recommend it to anyone who feels a bit stressed about life.
Gambling on intuition
Sometimes you have to take a chance when buying albums. The vocalist with Adiemus, she has made a very beautiful album, full of great songs and with a lot of different influences, including those from her native South Africa. She has a stunning voice and is backed by a talented group of musicians and singers.
Is it New Age, MOR, Rock - or should we not bother to categorise? Wherever we put Miriam, it's a brilliant album and if you like it, then try her follow up album - Second Nature - which is also excellent.
I understand she is making a third album - more classical than the first two. Hopefully, this will also show her vocal skills to great effect.
