Essential
This is the best saxophone book I have bought. You cannot learn to play the saxophone from scratch with this book but it could be an excellent complement to your existing saxophone tuition.

I am a self-taught saxophone player (using instructional books) and so this book is particularly useful as I have no teacher to tap for practical tips.

This book is filled with little gems, some of which I can put into practice straight away whereas others will only become useful once I become more experienced.

I am sure there will be something for everyone in this book. Well worth the money !!

ok, not great
This has some good tips, but it's quite lightweight. The Teal book is much more informative, even if it is dated.

Plus, some of the tips are a bit wierd- like the pop test, which is bad for reeds, and 'loosen your emboucher to play low notes'- I'm only a beginner but I know this is wrong, should keep the same emboucher for all notes.

Some good exercises, but you'll probably learn more from the internet..
