Nice and fast
eSATA transfer is indeed close to built-in SATA disk, contrary to some other eSATA external disks that are not much faster than with USB2

Easy to use and looks good
This is simple way to make use of a spare drive. Easy to install and works fine.

Good Product
- First impressions were it was a bit tacky and cheap looking; but I quickly overcame this when I realised the facia and rear had a plastic covering that peeled off to reveal a pleasant shiny black finish.
There were a few bits of plastic on the Aluminium shell that looked like scratches, again spoiling the initial experience of (some examples) of the product, but on close examination it was possible to scratch these off with my nail and with a little rubbing the cover looked pristine. I think it will pick up dust on the surface easily due to the grain of the finish but all in all I'm very happy.

- I ordered a few of these to use with Samsung 500Gb drives and WD 320 Gb drives. Both fit very snugly with no problem (a little care needed to fit the connectors squarely# and I have formatted all without issue. During formatting the cases became quite warm with all the disk activity but to me that just illustrates the aluminium doing its job to dissipate the heat really well.

I have used both the Sata and USB interfaces and am very imressed. The USB works without the additional USB power lead on all drives #all 5400 drives# and the access speed is very good.

The product comes with everything you need, including a small screwdriver #that works well!# for the small and fiddly screws to remove and refit the cover - don't let the fiddly screws put you off though, as long you don't need to swap drives too often it's good enough for the job #if you do need to swap often I'd look elsewhere - I'm not sure the plastic would stand too much activity - and the screws may not either#.

The size of the box is bigger than expected being very slightly wider and just under 15mm longer than a WD Passport #for comparison) - but then that's because it has the circuitry for the eSATa I guess.

All I have to do now is fit the hot swap bay in the pc but that can wait for now.

All in all I would recommend this as one of those products that does exactly what it says on the tin.
