Tidy value product4
Delivery was fine. Got it out of the box and plugged it into my new Samsung NC10 notebook (running Windows XP) and it worked immediately - no issues at all. Reads both data and music CDs fine - good speed - haven't tried the DVDs or writing function yet.

Came with a basic USB connection cable (in white to match) and an additional fancy three-way USB cable that I can't figure a use for. The white colour is matt and appears fairly hardy.

Only slight comment for possible improvement is possibly a downside of these slimline models - it's very boxy - sharp corners etc. (not unpainted metal but the next worst) - would have prefered softer corners so it didn't poke holes/dents in my bag.

Simple and effective5
I bought this external optical drive to use with my netbook and I also use it with my iMac when the situation calls for it. The drive works flawlessly, I have used it to rip around 100+ CD's so far and it hasn't missed a beat. You get the drive, a short USB cable, a 3 pin UK power lead (not needed unless USB slot is underpowered) and another USB lead with some other cable attached to it. The drive is fairly quiet when spinning at max and has an activity light that glows orange when in use. Works with OS 10.6.

Great hassle-free buy5
I bought this to play films and music CD's with my Dell Inspiron laptop (the internal drive had broken). It arrived really quickly and it was really easy to use, only thing to watch is you can't use the external power supply as i think it must overload the laptop and make it crash, so you just power it through the laptop instead. But the play quality is great and I'd definitely recommend it.
