Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Debut album from emo punks My Chemical Romance. A loud, brash and in-your-face punk concept record, this album showcases lead singer Gerard Way's often dark and aggressive lyrics, which paint dark pictures of substance abuse, suicide and zombies. Includes the tracks 'Vampires Will Never Hurt You', 'Our Lady Of Sorrows' and 'Headfirst For Halos'.

Customer Reviews

Super!5
I only recently 'discovered' My Chemical Romance, and after falling in love with 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge', my next step was to purchase their debut.

I was initially put off by reviews stating that 'I Brought You Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love' was a 'darker' album than 'Three Cheers' (which isn't the most light-hearted of albums itself). Nevertheless, I bought 'Bullets'. And I was a bowled over.

'Bullets' is a fantastic album, and I can see that 'Three Cheers' was a natural progression from it. Although both albums are drained with the distinctive MCR sound, there are obvious differences. 'Bullets' is more raw and less polished. Strangely, its 'imperfections' only serve to make the album sound even more brilliant. More emotionally striking than 'Three Cheers', 'Bullets' is a very impressive debut.

It's hard to identify the standout tracks, as the entire album is of a high standard, but 'Drowning Lessons' is wonderful.

If, like me, you're a little deterred by reviewers describing this album as 'dakrer', but you love 'Three Cheers', just buy it. You will NOT regret it!

Better than the second album?5
I suggest you buy this album if you like the new one. It's slightly more "screamo" and a bit edgier though. It seems to be full of Gerard's pain and turmoil and it's really raw. An album worth listening to if you want to relate to this pain and anger and want to scream along. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up! I actually like it slightly more than the second.

This vanity i'm fakeing lets me live my life like this...5
Compared to Three Cheers this album is less polished but just as great if not better and has a much more sinister feel. I personally cannot choose between the two albums as i feel they both have something different to offer. so don't be put off by the darker lyrics and and more vocal sound, it is amazing.
My personal favourite songs are 'Our Lady of Sorrows', 'Skylines and turnstiles' and 'Headfirst for Halos'.
'Demolition lovers' is really sweet. listen to the lyrics. <3

Romance - Musical intro

Honey this mirror isn't big enough for both of us - *
"The amount of pills I'm taking, counteracts the booze I'm drinking" 5/5

Vampires will never hurt you -
"And if they get me and the sun goes down into the ground
And if they get me take this spike to my heart" 4.5/5

Drowning lessons -
"A kiss goodbye, your twisted shell
As rice grains and roses fall at your feet" 4.5/5

Our Lady of Sorrows - (my favourite song)*****
"Oh how wrong we were to think
That immortality meant never dying" 10/10

Headfirst for halos - **
"And as the fragments of my skull begin to fall
Fall on your tongue like pixie dust just think happy thoughts" 5/5

Skylines and turnstiles - ***
MCR's first ever song for those of you who are interested. Written about 9/11.
"And after seeing what we saw, can we still reclaim our innocence
And if the world needs something better, let's give them one more reason now" 5/5

Early sunsets over Monroeville -
"Before I pull this trigger,
Your eyes vacant and stained...
And in saying you loved me,
Made things harder at best"
4/5

This is the best day ever -
"Well I felt I couldn't take, another day inside this place
From silent dreams we never wake"
4/5

Cubicles -
"It's the tearing sound of love-notes
Drowning out these gray stained windows"
4.5/5

Demolition Lovers - **** <3
"Know how much I want to show you you're the only one
Like a bed of roses there's a dozen reasons in this gun"
5/5

I hope this is useful. I put on some lyrics so you can see what the album is about. I put *'s for the best songs on the album.

Everyone who loves Three Cheers should get this. This is true MCR <3
