The riffs are back ladies and gents
As soon as the feedback at the start of opening track Hand of Blood gives way to the meaty guitar riffs and pounding drums you smile to yourself and you know this band will be something very special in the years to come. The name, and the fact they come from Wales, gives you the impression that they will be an emo band, they're not. Old school metal riffs, multi-layered vocals and anthemic, fist pumping choruses leave you feeling at the end of the album that it was too short and that you want more. BFMV are often lumped in with the rest of the metalcore brigade such as Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu, in the ridiculous need for bands to be pigeon-holed and categorised. However, neither of those bands hit levels of this quality on their first albums, never mind their EPs. None of the songs are weak, although 'Hand of Blood' and 'Curses' stand out as being the best tracks, and the new single Four Words to Choke Upon (not included on the EP) continues this trend of excellent quality. We can only hope that the full length album will be released very soon.
One to mosh to
I first herd these guys at a club in Newport playing bewtween gigs and i asked my mate "who's THIS? it's awesome!" "it's bullet!" what hooked me was the extreemly fast riffage and i had an instant desire to play it very very loud. Everyone i know loves them and there genius mix of screaming, dawwwring and great musician work is great, just great. My personal favourite aspect of the band is how the voices interweave with the guitar riffs, and how the drums just keep on going! It seems to be absent in so many bands now that its good to see it in this band. There was only one thing i wanted to do when i herd "Hand of Blood" and that was to mosh my heart out. the best song of many i highly recommend Bullet for my Vallentine to anybody
bullet to destroy
bullet for my valentine have been around for a few years and have experimented with their sound in order to find what suits and this is the return of years of hard work and what an achievement, the five tracks on offer show a range of hardcore with twists of emo thrown in,the threee singers also make the band unique and the venom and anger rarely fade, this is a great taster for their debut 45 so if you like silverstein, beloved and finch then get this and you wont be sorry
