The Windmills of your mind2
There are two McQueen boxsets out there. This one is for children as it features the silly 'The Great Escape' and the even sillier 'Mignificent Seven' both directed by the same over-rated director.

McQueens early movie 'Sand Peebles' is a very good movie and worth a watch. Made in 1966 The Sand Pebbles is a Steve McQueen vehicle; no doubt one of his best movies, but it is also the unacknowledged epic of the sixties, when the genre began to decline as a mere Hollywood spectacle and was becoming a more thoughtful, more complex adventure that took on momentous themes--like the emergence of China as an independent country and world power. Add Candice Bergen, at her freshest, Richard Attenborough emerging as a key figure in movies, and several Hollywood veterans, like Richard Crenna, and you have a mix that offers both entertainment and a thoughtfully staged adventure, replete with exotic locales, suspenseful clashes, and a gripping ending. Longish, but nearly flawlessly directed by Robert Wise.

The 'Thomas Crown Affair' is the best movie here, and what a gem of a movie it is. Did you know the original bank heist sceen was filmed with only five actors? Everyone else there were members of the public who actually thought it was real ! This shows sixties cult filming at it's highest, well shot and excellent editing make this a film to own for all the right reasons. If you want to know how McQueen earned his nickname as the 'King of Cool', then watch this little Norman Jewson gem.
