Good book, if it was all there!2
I Recently purcahsed this book along with several others, to discover that there was a MAJOR printing error, whilst reading through it. When i reached page 93 i discovered that i was reading something that I had previously read! From page 93 to 124, was exactly the same pages as from 61 to 92, earlier in the book and continued on page 125!
Very Disappointing in this book for this error alothough i did enjoy reading it!

Very good book5
This is a good book to start people on the MCDST track, for all those that have commented above they need to read the exam information for any Microsoft exams. The idea is that you have worked with the systems for a few years supporting them, you have then used the book to brush up and revise some exam style techniques then sit the exam. For those who are just interested in sitting the exam you would be better off using a copy of XP and practice using as much of the operating system as you can then revising from the book. You will learn alot more from experience than you will from ANY book.

Sybex books and Microsoft Press books are amongst the best for any Microsoft exam, though the Microsoft Exams do tend to go into alot of detail!!

Good book - with good coverage on all aspects3
I do have a basic insight into XP so I thought this would be a good starting point in the IT world. This book goes into detail in all chapters, explaining clearly and concisely - sometimes with the aid of practical exercises. It has also test questions at the end of each chapter - and two bonus exams which are on the accompanied CD. It is a good book and I would recommend it, although I feel you do need additional study guides and/or exam cram books with more exam questions in order to pass the exam.
