Customer Reviews
Excellent book, really prepares you for the exam
A couple of years ago, I took part in an official Microsoft course in Administerting XP. At the end of the week (with previous experience of XP), I decided to sit the 70-270 exam (I had a free re-sit).
I failed the exam by a few points. What I realised was that the book provided on the course was for that course and not necessarily for the exam.
After a bit of searching about, I came across the Sybex book. It was great. Very well laid out, easy to read and with excellent end of chapter review questions. The book prepares you for the exam and filled in the gaps from my Microsoft course.
I sat the exam a couple of weeks after the first one and aced it!
MCSA/MCSE Windows XP Pro Study Guide Exam 70-270
I actually purchased MCDST Study Guide Exam 70-271 & 70-272 by Bill Ferguson published by Sybex Press first & because of how it was written & structured I then purchased the study guide for 70-270. As I only have the Exam Cram 2 for 70-270 to compare, I found the book by Lisa Donald easier to follow & understand & my revision was based mainly from this book. CD-ROM that comes with the book is pretty handy doing review questions, flash cards, options to install onto your computer or PDA. Only real drawback were review/exam questions are fairly simple compared to taking the actual 70-270 exam questions are much more harder & trickier
but since I passed the 70-270 exam the book worked for me.
