New layout, less cluttered.
I had my reservations about the newer ever expanding versions of K&C becoming oversized and too detailed with certain topics getting disproportionate representation. Well I have had the book for a few days and content is much the same as before but the spacing and layout is better as is readability. I still would recommend the Ballinger book which is a spin off of K&C as the basic undergraduate text and have this on the shelf for reference - there is also web access to this and Cecil so that's useful.

An excellent read!
This book is truly amazing in terms of its content. It covers everything in clinical medicine (albeit, a little lacking for more advanced stages of medicine) from laws and ethics to a breakdown of the major clinical areas.

The book has a decent introduction covering basic biochemistry and genetics, which are essential to grasp in preparation for the subsequent chapters.

The student consult is also a nice bonus, as it means you don't have to carry this fairly weighty book around with you.

If you are looking for a book in clinical medicine, look no further.

A touch disappointed!
I am a big fan of K&C since my medical school days back in late 1990s and have owned the 5th and 6th editions.
I couldn't wait for the 7th edition which i will be reading from cover to cover for MRCP exams. The first thing i noted when i got the book this morning was that it was so light. I wasn't sure if i had got the right book till i opened the packing and finally saw it. The book seems to have maintained its quality content but the layout is bit disappointing. The font size of the text is reduced considerably and is bit too compacted for me to comprehend with ease. They have left like an inch of space on the outer margin for no apparent reason!
Student consult has always been a useful feature but the option of adding K&C 7th edition to sudent consult didn't show up when I tried it.
Overall, it still remains my favourite book that i will surely use during my work as a GPWSI in Acute Medicine.
