Customer Reviews

not flashy but good for revision4
This is an excellent book for revision. It doesn't have any photos which is why it gets away with being so concise, so some might like to use another book as their core text. It's well laid out and contains the need to know information for medical school exams without being overwhelming. Plus I felt it was very good value for money.

Probably all you need for pathology as a medical student.4
Light and easy to carry around in your lab coat pocket, it is the most compact and convenient handbook to have around when you need to look up the aetiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, lab findings and prognosis of any disease. It picks up on the scientific basis of disease, which is often lacking in general medical texts like Kumar and Clark's Clinical Medicine. Although meant to be used alongside the parent text (Robbins and Cotran's Pathologic Basis of Disease), this pocket companion packs more than enough information for most students to use on its own. Chapters are arranged according to General Pathology, describing concepts applicable to all diseases, and Diseases of Organ Systems, elaborating on specific pathology of the various systems in the body. Filled with diagrams to illustrate pathology and concepts, as well as lists and tables for further details, it is useful as both a revision tool and a reference text.

A neat little fountain of knowledge...5
All of the essentials of its bigger cousin in a much lighter package, and less costlier... Would recommend it for revising pathology before tutorials, tests, exams etc. for undergrad and postgrad purposes. Check up on key concepts and head over to your library to consult the bigger version for more detail. I've had nearly all the companion editions before, and never regretted paying less for all the key facts that are presented, without the extraneous detail that is only needed once or twice.
