Highly Recommended4
This book is a really great textbook. Having read lots of physiology textbooks I can say this is one of the best. It's got a huge amount of detail which I think would satisfy anyone who needs to know about physiology, such as a medical student, a nurse, or a biology or science student. It covers every body system in turn, and in lots of detail, but without unnecessary information, (and throws in a bit of physics just for fun(!)). As a medical student I would not need to use any other textbook for physiology. For the cost I think it's amazing value for money and I would highly recommend it.

Human Physiology5
This comprehensive guide has the perfect balance of depth and detail. It packs in lots of concise explanations and illustrations covering all the physiology you need for your medicine course. It's easy on the eye, with a very readable layout and sober use of colour that guides you through the different topics.

Brilliant alternative to traditional texts4
As a second year Medic, I found this book most helpful in breaking down information not only into appropraite sizeable chunks but into manageable sections allowing for ease of reference to a particular topic. I enjoyed the journey through the systems with clear diagrams to aid learning as well.
I would highly recommend this book to those who can't quite see the sun for the rain in the complexity of Sherwood (like i never managed to) but would like more depth than Tortora.
