CD Description
This very nicely designed two-disc package combines soothing, atmospheric music with a guided, spoken-word meditation to increase awareness and align the listener's chakras, or energy centers that reside up and down the spine. The first disc, intended for massage, yoga, or quiet meditation, is music only, by producer Adam Plack. The music here combines textured ambient music, environmental sounds, and brief melodic passages inspired by jazz, pop, and world music. The second disc features Deepak Chopra speaking about the seven chakras: the body's energy centers that enable emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Chopra's talk is lucid and informative: he explains how our chakras regulate our life force, and how this force--when properly attendedto--manifests itself in health and happiness. The music accompanying Chopra's meditation contains specific Sanskrit tones designed to cleanse the chakras, and clear the body-mind passageways for the free flow of energy. The lavishly illustrated and detailed booklet included in the set lays out the chakra purposes for further study. This fine package not only illustrates ancient Vedic and Tantric principles, but it offers practical, easy-to-understand alternatives for personal healing, inspiration, and transformation.

Healing and transformation with this 2 CD set
This double CD set is every bit as good as I had hoped it would be when I bought it many months ago. I use CD 1 for quiet listening sometimes but not for meditating as I prefer silence for that. It can also be used for beautiful background music to massage.

The second CD I use regularly and always with headphones as they make such a difference.

(Similarly I always use headphones when I listen to Deepak Chopra's Soul of Healing Meditations CD. I wrote the first review of that and forgot to say that headphones, for me, are essential to get the full effect and benefit of listening.)

At the beginning of Chakra Balancing CD 2 Deepak says "Rest comfortably with your eyes closed" rather than his usual instruction to "Sit comfortably etc" so I sometimes get under the duvet whilst listening. However, it is probably better to sit with eyes closed if you can.

For each chakra Deepak gives:

- the colour;
- location;
- Sanskrit word;
- pricipal (security, appetite, willpower etc);
- system (lymph, respiration, immune etc);
- sense (taste, vision, hearing etc).
- gemstone (garnet, carnelian, emerald etc) - in booklet only.

All of the above is set to lovely music and, of course, each chakra has its own mantra or word to inwardly repeat to yourself at the appropriate time when guided by Deepak.

In my opinion,it is worth listening to this just to hear Deepak chanting OM with his lovely, rich, deep voice.

The only time you say the mantras out loud is at the very end when you are guided by Deepak and you imagine the symbol of infinity running through your body which he describes.

Absolutely worth every penny if you are interested in chakras, mantras and healing yourself.

Deepak says in his booklet that when energy is obstructed in our chakras (usually as a result of incompletely processed experiences from our past) we feel constricted and disconnected from our essential nature.

By bringing your attention to each chakra and introducing the specific mantra awakens the vibratory quality of the junction point. This allows the physical and emotional power inherent in the chakra to be available for your healing and transformation.

Worth More than 5 Stars!
This 2 CD set is absolutely brilliant. The first CD gives you beautiful relaxing background music. You can play this during a massage, a romantic dinner, or as you wind down at the end of a busy day. It is wonderful. The second CD is also brilliant and Deepak talks you through each Chakra, giving the purpose of the individual Chakra, the colour and the sound to which it vibrates. This is a must in anyones collection of relaxing music. If I could give this CD 10 stars I would.

Healing and soothing
These are exquisite CDs. I have some lovely cards "trust your vibes" by Sonia Choquette. One of the cards is "Aura Cleanse" and this CD is perfect for that. Also for raising your spirits if you feel blocked and generally to wind down and relax. I love the words that Deepak Chopra gives us for each chakra. CD no. 2 is also wonderful for creating a beautiful atmosphere - for myself alone and also if I have invited friends to the house. Maybe they won't notice the dust when the music is so lovely!
